Class Descriptions

United Talent Tumbling

United Talent’s tumbling program builds on skill progression. Beginning with basic motor skills, body awareness, and balance for our youngest students to advanced techniques for our most elite athletes. An overview of each class we offer can be found below.


Sub Beginner
Level 1 Tumbling:
No experience or skills required. Elements include: basic body positions, headstands, rolls, bridges, cartwheels, stretching, strength building, balance awareness, and body control. 

Beginner
Level 2 Tumbling:
Must be proficient in executing all level 1 skills.  Elements include: inverted skills, cartwheels, bridge variations, preparations for limbers, backbends, and kick overs. Continued focus on strength building, flexibility, body control, and technique to ensure a safe and strong tumbling foundation.

Advanced Beginner
Level 3 Tumbling:
 Must be proficient in executing all level 2 skills. Elements include: Increased abilities in limbers, back bends and kick overs.  Introductions to walkovers, round offs, and back handsprings. Increase in strength building, body positioning, and proper technique for upper level skills to come.


Intermediate
Level 4 Tumbling:
 Must be proficient in executing all level 3 skills. Independently working to execute front and back walkovers, back handsprings, and connected round off back handsprings. Introduction to front walkover step outs, front handsprings, back handspring series, and front and back tucks. With increased skill difficulty, a higher emphasis is placed on strength building, flexibility, body control, and proper technique.


Advanced
Level 5 Tumbling:
 Must be proficient in executing all level 4 skills. Strong focus on standing back handspring series as well as from a round off. Standing back tucks and independently working to connect back tucks to a round off and back handspring. Introduction to layouts, whips, and front tucks on the floor. High emphasis placed on strength building, flexibility, body control, and proper technique.

Elite
Level 6 Tumbling:
 Must be proficient in executing all level 5 skills. Focus on whip-handspring connections, layouts, and full twist.  Greater work on connecting tumbling passes through front walkovers, handsprings, and tucks. Highest emphasis on conditioning and strength building for proper body positioning and technique.

 

Boys 1-2

Level 1-2 Tumbling: No experience or skills required. Introductory and developmental combination class. Elements include: basic body positions, headstands, rolls, bridges, inverted skills, bridge variations, preparations for backbends and limbers. Focus on stretching, flexibility and strength building to ensure a strong foundation for tumbling.

 

Boys 2-3

Level 2-3 Tumbling: Must be executing all level 1 skills proficiently. Improving on inverted skills, bridge variations, limbers, back bends, and kick overs independently. Introduction to walkovers, round offs, and back handsprings. Increase in strength exercises to ensure proper body positions and abilities for upper level skills to come.

 

Back Handspring

This class is designed for progression and improvement on back handsprings. Athletes will work to perfect all aspects of this skill including: standing back handspring, round off back handspring, as well as back handspring series and round off back handspring series. Students who enroll in this class should be proficient in backbends and backbend kick overs and/or back walkovers.

Back Tuck

This class is designed for progression and improvement on back tucks. Athletes will work to perfect all aspects of this skill including: standing back tuck, standing back handspring back tuck, round off back tuck, and round off back handspring back tuck. Students who enroll in this class MUST be proficient at executing back handsprings and round off back handsprings.
